[Plugin: WordPress Backup to Dropbox] backup over 187%, etc? (when will it end?)

    hi, trying to run my first backup and it seems to be going way past 100% I guess I figured, it’d be “done” at 100%? Or am I reading the backup log wrong?

    sample of the log:

    Well mine hang on 843% from last 3 hours.

    Yeh, today it crossed 1000% and counting. Don’t really know what that means.

    I stopped mine at 177%, but I notice that down in the taskbar it’s still telling me that files are being added to my dropbox folder. How long is that going to continue? Is that folder at dropbox or on my computer?

    Is there a tutorial for this plugin somewhere?

    I have absolutely no idea what’s happening here.

    Hey guys,

    I document all the updates on my blog => http://www.mikeyd.com.au/2012/10/04/wordpress-backup-to-dropbox-1-3/

    In short the initial count the determines the progress is set to 1500 that is just larger then the file count of a vanilla WordPress installation. I did this to give you an estimation of progress instead of just putting unknown% complete. I apologise if this has caused confusion.

    Once the initial backup completes the file count will be updated so the percentage becomes more accurate.

    Regarding the files still being added to Dropbox after you stop the backup. This is due to the lag between the upload and download in Dropbox, it usually catches up in a few minutes.

    177% means you have about 2,655 files in your installation a whopping 799% is about 12,000 files which is a pretty big installation!

    Just let the plugin run its course and it will eventually finish.

    Thanks Michael for explaining. Yes, I had large installation and eventually it went near 2100% before completing.

    But I checked that files are backed up on dropbox so that’s ok I guess.
