[Plugin: Wordbooker] What the hosting company said about Curl
So I am getting the dreaded “Curl Status: Curl is available but cannot access Facebook – This is a problem (0 – )” error in my support info. I contacted the hosting company (Site5) and after much running around, this was their response:
“Curl is working, the issue could be due to the facebook API. You might need to find the FaceBook API ip and port for us to enable the connection between your website and facebook. It could be that our firewall is blocking it. Facebook should be able to provide you and IP and port that your application uses in order to connect to facebook and retrieve the information. Also in order for you to retrieve information from your facebook account you need configure your plugin with certain app id or hashcode: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/guides/appcenter/
Could you please contact facebook and ask them to provide you their IP and port, the plugin developer should know that too.”
Steve, I need help with this, please. I searched all over the place but couldn’t find any answers except “get a new hosting company.” I don’t really want to do that since I just spent hours getting this set up on this one.
