Under user settings where it says “post to the following wall” I am not sure what wall its posting to. It only says in the box “personal wall and then a number” I can’t seem to change it. How do I verify that the posts are being directed to the correct facebook page and how would I change it or add a new page for the posting to go to? Thank you for your help.

Wordbooker will only post to pages/groups that you are an administrator for. If you have pages you’re an administrator for but they’re not appearing then we might need to look at what is going on in the Cache refresh as that should find the pages and build them into the drop downs.

if it says personal wall – then they are going onto your personal wall. You might not see them because timeline tends to group things. Wordbooker always returns a message indicating if its posted successfully.

I am assuming, then, that the user name I use in facebook then needs to be the same as wordpress user name ( if that is what it means by administrator ). Right now, they are different and there seems to be no way to change them….what do I do?

    Plugin Author Steve

    (@steveatty)

No – account names have nothing to do with it.

The “facebook targets” are pages on Facebook that you either created or you have been set as an Administrator for. They are associated with your Facebook account. If you own no pages on Facebook and have not been set as an administrator then Wordbooker will only give you the option to post your personal wall.

When you create pages on Facebook, or are set as an administrator for then Wordbooker will, on its next cache refresh, grab details on those pages and add them to your available targets.

The problem started when we changed the name of the facebook page from “rughookingdesigns” to “buginarughooking”. The only other thing changed was the email from rughookingdesigns@hotmail.com to sharon@buginarughookingpatterns.com. Now blog posts no longer post to the facebook page. How we do know who the administrator is? Sharon (my wife) set up the page originally. Somehow under account settings I (Greg) am named in her “buginarughookingpatterns.com” facebook page. We don’t know how this happened, except for the possibility that I have a personal facebook page and she doesn’t. Please help, as we are totally confused.

If you re-named the page then if you click on the Reset button on the Wordbooker options page and re-authenticate against FB it should pick it up – as long as the user you are logging into Facebook as is an administrator of the Facebook page. Sharon will be the Owner (and sole admin, unless she’s set you up as an administrator of it in Facebook)

    (@smaloney)

I do appreciate your help, Steve. How do I know for sure who is the administrator of “buginarughooking” facebook page?

    Thread Starter smaloney

    (@smaloney)

Also, in the box where it says “post to the following wall” why am I not able to actually enter the wall I want to post to? Wouldn’t that make it a lot easier?

I ( Greg Maloney ) am still showing up in “Wordbooker Option Page” under Status. Sharon remains as the administrator of her wordpress page. I think this may be the problem, but am not sure. None of her posts are going to her facebook page, or to my personal page, so we are still in limbo.

Also how do you “re-authenticate against facebook”?

    Plugin Author Steve

    (@steveatty)

Well I imagine Sharon is – who changed the name? Whoever did that must be an adminstrator of the page.

Allowing peoople to enter the page wouldn’t make it easier as facebook names are not unique – so posts made through the API have to use the internal FB ID (which most people don’t know).

At the moment if its showing you under the Status then that blog account is associated against your Facebook account.

To re-authenticate against Facebook from Wordbooker make sure that you are logged into Facebook as the user you want to use in Wordbooker, then in the same browser go to the wordbooker options page in your blog and click on the Reset User Session button and then follow the prompts.

This is what I am getting when I do the above. Still not transferring blog posts to facebook page. Do you see what the problem is? Thanks for sticking with me on this. I would really like to solve the problem. By the way, I have now set myself ( Greg ) as an administrator on Sharon’s WordPress page as well as Facebook…at least I think I am administrator on Facebook, as it never really uses that word. But under “General Account Settings” name: Greg Maloney. Does that mean I am the administrator?

OK – well Wordbooker is running as you, not at Sharon and you are apparently not an administrator on the facebook page that Sharon has created

    Thread Starter smaloney

    (@smaloney)

So how do I get Wordbooker to run as Sharon? Under Advanced options we now have User who should get Admin level diagnostics: smaloney, but I ( Greg Maloney ) still show up in the diagnostics messages, not Sharon.

    Thread Starter smaloney

    (@smaloney)

Also, is there no way to be sure who the administrator is for a facebook page?

    Plugin Author Steve

    (@steveatty)

I thought it was all explained in the user manual.

When you are authenticating in Wordbooker (either for the first time or when you are clicking on the Reset) you need to make sure that the Facebook account you are authenticating is the account you want Wordbooker to link to.

Due to the way that Facebook authorisation works if you are already logged into Facebook from a browser even if you don’t have a window open at the time time Wordbooker will attempt to authorise against that user.

So make sure that you are not logged into Facebook before you authorise Wordbooker. Either make sure Sharon has logged into Facebook from the current browser session or login as her when the Facebook login dialogue box comes up.

To find out who is a Facebook page admin go to the page in question as the person who created it (or as someone who is an administrator).

You should see the Admin bar at the top of the screen and one of the options is Edit Page. Click on that and then click on Admin roles….

    Thread Starter smaloney

    (@smaloney)

OK, I now have sharon@rughookingpatterns.com as the manager in her face book page. sharon@rughookingpatterns.com is an administrator on wordpress also. I have refreshed wordbooker. I have clicked the box to post to facebook. I have updated a post to list sharon@rughookingpatterns.com as the author. The facebook page “Bug In A Rug Hooking Patterns” is logged onto. And still the post is not going onto the facebook page. Any other possible reasons why not?

    Thread Starter smaloney

    (@smaloney)

Also why am I ( Greg Maloney ) shown in the Status area at the bottom of the Wordbooker Options Page….Any way to change this?
