[Plugin: WooCommerce] Styling products displayed by shortcode

Hey guys I’ve jumped into wordpress recently doing maintenance for someone and most of it I’m figuring out quite easy. I didn’t make the site though so trying to catch up on how it all works.

I’ve added products to the homepage in a 4 column using this shortcode
[sale_products per_page="4" columns="4"

The way I’m going about changing this is looking up what that it’s called and then applying custom css to it but nothing changes. Can’t even get a border on it.
#main div .woocommerce .columns-4 {height: 500px; border: 5px;}
Am I just getting the css tags wrong or what?

My goal is to get all those products to be the same height, have the ‘add to cart button’ and the prices at the bottom of the div. So much easier being able to do what you want in dreamweaver hahaha.
