# [Plugin: WooCommerce] Product type not changing

 * Recently my variable products are not updating and trying to display as a simple
   product.
 * None of the variation data will show up until I duplicate the product and re-
   publish it.
 * In the database the product is showing as variable. Sometimes I can change the
   product type in the database to simple, save, then change it to variable and 
   it will work. But this isn’t always the case…and I have over 75 products that
   I don’t want to duplicate and recreate the photo galleries.
 * Any thoughts?

 * UPDATE: The database contains two entries for each product;
 *     ```
       _transient_wc_product_type_xxx', 'variable', 'yes');
       _transient_woocommerce_product_type_xxx', 'variable', 'yes');
       ```
   
 * When I update a product type in WordPress, the second entry (woocommerce_product_type_xxx)
   does not update and I have to manually go through the database and change the
   product type.
 * Since I’m passing this off to my client, I don’t expect him to do this when he
   runs into this problem again.
 * Does the database need both entries for a product, or can I delete one of them?
