• I am very new to wordpress, so this could be a very obvious question – sorry if it is.

The dashboard says WordPress, Woocommerce and Jetpack need updating. I have set them to update, gone away and come back hours later and they are still hanging.

If I then do anything else, they fail and uninstall the plugin. Thank goodness I have Vault to restore the website.

I have downloaded the newer version and thought about updating it by ftp, but don’t know if it will break it.

I’ve tried the same task at least 5 times now, with no success.

    Am I missing something?

    Thank you in advance.

Have you tried to update via FTP? I know you say thought about it but, have you tried it yet? I have a similar issue a few months back with Jetpack as well and just resorted to updating via FTP and it worked fine. 🙂

    Thanks Jose.

Again, being so new to WordPress I am unsure how it works. If I uploaded the lastest version of jetpack into wp-content folder, would that over-write anything I have done in the wordpress dashboard on the website?

You can safely delete the old JetPack folder and then upload a new copy via FTP.
