Support » Fixing WordPress » Plugin will not delete with left mouse click

  • Hi, I installed a plugin but it ended with error, probably due to incompatibility. Worpress stuck. Plugin I deleted over FTP client, WP runs again.

But there was a following problem. Any plugin installed does not uninstall via the administration interface. I’ll delete it, writes “deleting” and nothing happens. Usually a jump up notice if I want to really delete a plugin, I do confirm and command is executed. Now, nothing pops up, the deleting fails.

I can do it only when I click with the mouse wheel Delete. This press opens any web link into a new browser window. There also opens a new window for deletion confirmation, i confirm and deleted.

Why it does not work on the left button? Somewhere, something probably went wrong, WP reinstalling did not work in other browsers it behaves.

    Thank you for your advice.

  • You can always remove a plugin via FTP or cPanel’s File Manager

If you deleted the plugin folder on the server via ftp before you deleted the plugin via the WordPress Admin then that is likely the cause of the problem as you did not remove it from the Database.

I would suggest putting the plugin back on the server and then removing it through the Admin interface if that is the case.
