[resolved] Does it work on page or sidebar only?? (2 posts)

I'm not going to "downgrade" the widget if it's built to do sidebars page by page. That's great. It's just that I'm looking at it for the first time. I'm wondering if it also does widgets on a page on a page by page basis -- not just in the sidebar but right in the page in a custom template.

Before I start learning how it works -- wonder if I can first know how it applies so I know what to learn first in widget-wonderland here in wp. :)

    Hi laura777,

If I understand your question correctly, the answer is yes. You can put a 'Sidebar' anywhere you want in your page template. I named the Widget Wrangler widget areas as 'sidebar' because that is what WordPress calls them. But really, they can go anywhere you want.

You can achieve this by either adding a ww sidebar ( ww_dynamic_sidebar('sidebar_name'); ) directly into your template file. Or, if your theme already provides a 'sidebar' in the area you want, you can put the WW Sidebar Widget in that area, and select which 'sidebar' should display there.

In future releases I will be renaming widget wrangler's 'Sidebars' to 'Widget Regions' to help clear up some of the confusion about what a sidebar is.

    Does this answer your question?
