Support » Plugin: Widget Settings Importer/Exporter » [Plugin: Widget Settings Importer/Exporter] Feature Request: What to do with existing widgets

  • I’ve said it before, but I just want to reiterate how much I appreciate this plugin. It’s a huge time and energy saver.

I was wondering, though, if it would be possible to add a feature that allows us to choose what to do with any existing widgets on the site into which we’re importing settings. It would be great if we had two options: Remove all existing widgets before import, or import widgets alongside existing widgets (which appears to be the current method). That would be especially helpful when you’re working on modifying an existing site.

Sounds like a good idea, I gotta find the time to do it, but I’ll definitely integrate that into the next release. Thanks for the idea and as always, glad to be helping out the WP community.

I would heartily second this feature. I currently have 88 widgets in a large site and removing them one by one is a slow, painful process.
