Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » [Plugin: W3 Total Cache]WordPress keeps overiding the .htaccess made by W3TC ?

  • Hello,

I have the last version of W3TC and wordpress, i have installed W3TC some days ago and it was working perfectly.

Today I had some problem ( unrelated ) with my database ( the options table broken ), while I was trying to solve the problem I have deactivated all plugins including W3TC, repaired the table, all worked but since I have reactivated W3TC the home page of my site works but all links are broken.

In the options W3TC tell me to chmod le .htaccess to allow him to make modification, i do that, try again, that work for an instant and the message from w3tc come back.

To see the problem i have watch the files in my ftp and i see that when w3tc do his modification the .htaccess file become ~4ko with the rewrite rules from w3tc and a few second later he come back to the 1ko he was before.

    I don’t understand how that possible ?

    Thank you for your help.

    ps : Excuse my English

I’m not sure I understood your point. You can always manually add the rules your .htaccess file. It’s important to make sure that the W3TC rules are above the WordPress rules in your .htaccess file and below any custom redirects or other directives you have.
