[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] What's the use of pgcache directory ?

  • I’ve been running W3 Total Cache for a while, and the tests I do with pingdom or webpagetest seem to indicate caching is enabled and working on my blog (cnx-software.com).

However, the directory wp-content/w3tc/pgcache is empty. Is that normal ?
Page Cache with Disk Enhanced Method is enabled in WordPress dashboard.

  • if you are using disc:enchanced you should have files in the pgcache folder. but depending on your settings they might be generated if you browse around your page while logged in.

That is not normal, something is interfering with caching. If you deactivate other plugins temporarily and switch to the twentyeleven theme, do cache files get created?
