Support » Plugins » [PLUGIN: W3 total cache] Plugin could not be activated/ fatal error

  • hi,

i’m trying to get the plugin to work but it keeps coming up with

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

/home/fhlinux197/l/leehughes.co.uk/user/htdocs/wp-content/uploads could not be created, please run following command:
    chmod 777 /home/fhlinux197/l/leehughes.co.uk/user/htdocs/wp-content

I have changed the file permissions to 777. I researched it a few mins ago.
So, I changed the permissions, deleted plugin and re-installed. Same message.

    Any ideas?

  • You can try to change the user/group of wp-content/ to be the same as your web server’s user/group, but there is some other issue causing an anomaly like suPHP.
