[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Multi-site Cloudfront

  • I’m running WP3 with multisite enabled am am trying to create localized versions of a blog. The main blog is in English and the localized blog is in Japanese. I initially tried setting both the parent blog and the child blog on the same CDN, but when I did that, the child blog started overwriting the parent blog’s files. The expected behavior here was that it should have been putting files in the following path:

    /jp/wp-content/FILENAME

instead it was uploading them to:

    /wp-content/FILENAME

So as a work-around I tried creating a new bucket and new distribution. This obviously fixed the problem of files being overwritten, but created a new problem in that it would upload the files to the root directory in the new distribution, but all the references to the files would point to a subfolder that doesn’t exist.

For example, if you view source on any of the pages on the site, it references the stylesheet at:

    https://cdn.jp.norecipes.com/jp/wp-content/themes/thesis_18/style.css.gzip

But the file has actually been uploaded to:

    https://cdn.jp.norecipes.com/wp-content/themes/thesis_18/style.css.gzip

I need to get W3TC to either upload the file to the “jp” subdirectory, or I need to not include “jp” in the path when it substitutes the hostname. Any suggestions on how I can fix this? Thanks!
