[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Moving wp-content folder outside of wordpress root

    @joshdayberry

    I would like to make the directory structure of my wp install look like this.

    /www/wordpress
    /www/wp-content

    instead of

    /www/wordpress
    /www/wordpress/wp-content

    However when I do this the “Minify” part of the plugin does not work. I used these configurations and everything else seems to work.

    define (‘WP_CONTENT_DIR’,’/www/wp-content’);
    define (‘WP_CONTENT_URL’,’http://www.oursite.com/libs’);
    define( ‘WP_PLUGIN_DIR’, ‘/www/wp-content/plugins’ );
    define( ‘WP_PLUGIN_URL’, ‘http://www.oursite.com/libs/plugins’);

    Is this something that should work?

    not in the current release sorry. Can you use symlinks meanwhile to get things working for W3TC?

    +1 on this issue, symlinking doesn’t work as the minified files aren’t generated, just the .files and .id files.

    This feature will be supported in the next release.

    I also have request for that,

    i have vps and for / partition i use ssd drive and sas for /home. i hope my cache can put at /cache for example.. i think the cache write and read will be more faster if the plugin can do that..

    anyway when you will release it? 🙂
