# [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] GZIP vs CPU

 * Hi,
 * I am setting up a site on a small shared server.
 * My questions:
    1. Are the GZIP’ed files also cached? So that the server won’t
   have to ZIP them over and over again? 2. How can I see what the size of my JS&
   CSS files are after GZIP? 3. Are there any plans of adding other methods to reduce
   file size, like packer?

 * Statistics will be added in v1.0

 * Minify is enough for most users, but several optimization engines (mix and match)
   will be available in v1.0
