My blog was running Apache with APC and I’ve switched to W3 to take advantage of the minify options. After some testing I found the best results were using disk cache for page minify, and object caching. Database caching is disabled.

Does APC have any purpose in this setup or can I uninstall it? I’m on a VPS with only 512MB so would rather not keep it loaded if it’s not being used. There isn’t anything else hosted on the VPS besides my blog.

If you’re using W3 Total Cache, you shouldn’t be using a standalone WordPress object cache plugin like my APC one. W3 Total Cache installs its own object cache backend and you manage all that through the plugin.

    Thanks @mark Jaquith
