[Resolved] [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Disable garbage collection for posts

  • My posts and pages are static. And I have a lot of them, more than 40000.

Can W3TC handle this situation? What I want is to disable garbage collection only for posts/pages. Category/tags/front page should be garbage collected.

You can set a very high expires value on the browser cache settings tab for HTML and that will increase the lifetime of a given page in the cache accordingly.

What I want is to disable garbage collection only for posts/pages. Category/tags/front page should be garbage collected.

    This is currently not possible.

Is it possible to set a very high expires value (30 days) and manually delete the category/tags/front every hour? By manually I mean that I can write a plugin that is triggered by cron.

How can I find the files to remove?

Is it possible to see the status of the preloading? How can I tell if it is working or not?

    Anyone?

Anything is possible, but without knowing more about your site, I don’t see how any of this makes sense. You can simply put a huge garbage collection value in the setting and then if you poke around the cache file directory structure you can get some idea for the cached files you’d want to eliminate and just match and remove those with some shell script.
