Support » Plugin: W3 Total Cache » [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Conflict with redirection, canonicalization

  • This has been reported, but I want to register the same issue. Two sites had issues. One was built from scratch to drop www in URLs and it never seemed to work at all. Second site worked great until I tried to drop the www, then everything went haywire with page loads with URLs showing up with .gzip on the end and pages taking upwards of 4 seconds just to connect.

I really liked this plugin but it became unusable with redirection.

Custom redirect rules need to be at the top of the .htaccess file, above all W3TC or WordPress rules when using disk enhanced.
