I figured out how to determine the source file by using the activity window in safari, and the mp3s, although uploaded to the CDN are NOT being served from the CDN.Any reason why I would want them to be served from the self-hosted CDN?
Perhaps the Flash you use to play the files is preventing the plugin to correct the url to the file so it points to the CDN?
If you put an ordinary link to the mp3 file does it get corrected so it points to the CDN?
@robnalexpress, are you sure your audio player supports using a CDN (different hostname) than your domain name for the audio files?
I use self-hosted CDN, so hostname is not an issue. There is an option in the plugin to specify a file location, but I haven’t had time to experiment with that.
Please do and get back to me.
Specifying the file location on the self-hosted CDN has no effect.
Can you please answer my previous question?
Specifying the file location on the self-hosted CDN in the plugin settings has no effect. This is really not a big issue for me. is there any advantage to having the mp3s served from the self-hosted CDN?
Yes, users will be able to download it faster. Did you check with the plugin author to verify that custom paths work?
The audio files are on this page. They are inserted into the WordPress page like this:
[audio:http://robreillyorgan.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Prelude-in-G-Major-Bach.mp3|titles=Prelude in G Major - Bach]
What if I just change the link to:
[audio:http://robreillyorgan.com/static/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Prelude-in-G-Major-Bach.mp3|titles=Prelude in G Major - Bach]
?
That’s still the same domain name, I’m not sure how that would help?
