# [Plugin: W3 Total Cache] 500 – Internal server error

 * Hello,
 * Firstly I have to say that I have a windows server 2008 R2 server with PHP Fast
   CGI (5.3.10) and the php_wincache extension enabled.
 * So I ‘ve installed w3 total cache plugin and configured well. The site is loading
   a bit faster.
 * The problem is, when I click empty all cache or any empty cache button, I have
   a 500 – Internal server error. How can I fix this? I need to empty the cache 
   since any changes I do, I don’t see them on the site.
 * PS: I installed wordpress via Web Installer and I use web.config for url rewrite
   and not .htaccess.

 * What is the exact error in your web server error log? Also for using rewriting(
   which you likely don’t need on IIS if you get all of it’s optimizations going)
   you would have to use the rewrite rules importer to get those in place, and again
   outside of the fancy permalinks rules (if needed for your install) I don’t recommend
   using those if you know how to tune IIS. You can other wise use memcached or 
   wincache (depending on your needs) for nearly every caching type otherwise.
