Videos not working on iOS (9 posts)

I have taken all the correct steps to imbed my video using VideoPress.

However, when I access the page on an iOS device, it says I need Flash to view the video.

    Any work around on this?

    Thanks!

Only videos embedded on wordpress.com blogs have the new non-flash fallback at the moment.

Because you're self-hosted, your videos are still using flash-only.

But the WordPress.org plugin will be updated soon and then you'll be good to go.

    Sorry,
but the wordpress.com blogs only play flash-videos. After buying the PlugIn, there is only the old option to import the shortcut - but there is no html5-embedding.

Take a look at the demo-video of the VideoPress-Website - there is also only flash - no html5-embedding. Doesn't play on an iPhone ...

    Kind Regards
    Holger

If a video isn't "shareable" (in the video's settings) then it will only play using Flash.

Holger/Hedrich31: The videopress.com demo videos play fine on an iPhone.

    Hi,
thanks for testing the link. Seems to be a problem with my iPhone 3G (iPhone Software 4.2.1).

After clicking on the white triangle there is only the preview picture viewable.

    Kind Regards
    Holger

    Hi,

sorry for posting another problem. The Html5-friendly Browser Safari 5.0.4 also shows the demo video form videopress.com only in Flash-Mode. There is no Html5-Embedding.

    Kind Regards
    Holger

The video will play in Flash if it's available. Disable Flash in Safari and then test.
