Not sure if this is possible: I use Tubepress and shortcodes to pull playlists from Vimeo and YouTube.
Would it be difficult to parse that shortcode’s playlist URI, and go fetch the user set thumbnail of that particular playlist?
Creating a playlist in YouTube, you are able to set the thumbnail you want displayed.
