[Plugin: User Role Editor] Subscriber and comments

    Hi,

    Subscriber doesn’t see comments at WP back-end at all. If he does, then you gave him ‘edit_posts’ capability, and such user becomes an ‘author’ already, I suppose.
    This post could help you to limit comments available to the author by comments from his posts only and hide undesired views, leave just ‘Approved’ only:
