[Plugin: User Role Editor] Restrict roles from normal posts but not custom posts

  • Whenever I remove a user’s edit_posts capability they can no longer add / edit any custom posts that I have set up?

However, according to their capability settings, they do have the ability to add / edit custom posts (in this case, the custom posts are called ‘companies’).

Despite this, these users are unable to add or edit any type of post whatsoever if I remove their edit_posts capability.

Is this how the plugin is supposed to behave?

URE plugin is the interface to add/remove role capabilities to/from database storage. URE plugin doesn’t make any action to allow or restrict user access according to the resulting capabilities set. WordPress core code does that work. So, if you have such result, that supposed by WordPress developers.
It is right – if user have not edit_posts capability he/she could not edit ANY post.
