  • I tried forcing some 404 on a testsite. The plugin does sends me emails but the links point to the theme’s style.css and foo.gif.
Great plugin, if only I could get it to work.

FJ, can you give me an example of how it is not working with your permalinks? I use pretty permalinks on all my websites and don’t have an issue.

Mikker – I’ve never had the plugin send me a false positive, can you forward me your 404 email for the example you provided – m[at]

I have a similar issue. When I visit a broken link that doesn’t exist on my site like i get the bog standard “Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.” page returned.

i have done the simple steps on the instructions correctly (i think).

could it be because i am on an iis server? sadly i cannot change.

The plugin isn’t sending any email upon 404, any idea?

hubbers: It looks like you may need to put the useful404s(); code into your index.php template as it seems to be overriding your 404.php template for posts not found. Just look for the text Sorry, no posts matched your criteria. and put the call near that. You may need to setup your WordPress to work with custom 404s as well using something like

    Good Luck!

devbit: thanks that was exactly the right answer!
