Plugin update & install unzip hang

Hi all,

I’ve searched the forums on this topic, found many suggestions and have done all of them with no luck. My client’s site hangs at the unzip of plugin install and upgrades, though the unzip DOES occur, it just does not update or re-activate the plugin. The install screen hangs.

Here’s what I’ve done thus far:

Increased memory from 32mb to 64mb.
Completely deleted and installed clean wp-include and wp-admin folders
Checked php.ini settings:
max_execution_time = 60
max_input_time = 120
memory_limit = 10000M

Host is Rackspace – they say “my wordpress does NOT call ssh so that would not be the reason why it times out on updates.”

Anyone have any ideas about what else I can do to correct this issue?
