 * I am having an issue with updating plugins. Several times, a plugin fails when
it updates at the point of trying to remove the old version. Once this happens,
the plugin is removed from my list of installed plugins (active or inactive)
but remains on my ftp server in the wp-content/plugins folder. However, I cannot
delete the plugin from my ftp server and cannot reinstall the plugin because
it already has a directory. So, I have forced, in some cases, to rename the folders“
unwanted” and then reinstall. Some folders will not let me even change the names.
It’s a real pain in the ass.
I am reluctant to update any plugins now but know
that it’s important for the health of the site. Any suggestions? Thanks.
