• One thing I’ve noticed while using this plugin is that with retweet, the tweet gets cut off and is truncated with a ‘…’ . I’m not linking to the original tweet as I don’t want them to leave my site, so, I’m wondering if there is a way to show a full RT without the ‘…’ at the end. Frankly, I don’t care how long the tweet is, I just want to see the entire tweet.

    Thanks!

  • I’m seeing the same problem here. I RT’ed someone’s tweet, and the link in that tweet was clipped off when shown through Twitter Widget Pro. Is there a way to code in Twitter Widget Pro to show the full tweet?

Twitter Widget Pro is showing everything that Twitter is sending. I see the same thing happening in several other places (even Tweetdeck, which is now by Twitter), so I don’t think they plan to offer a full-length version (at least not through their API).

    Hi Aaron

This doesn’t seem to be the case, at least not as far as I can see. I have a tweet on the front of http://www.mileendgroup.com that’s being shortened, but if I used the Search API with …

    http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=from:mileendgroup

… it returns the full tweet.

Any ideas where the characters might be getting lost?

EDIT: After looking at the plugin code, I see that it’s not using the Search API. Is there a particular reason behind that, or any way that it could use the Search API for preference? I know that the Search API only picks up the last 8 or 9 days’ tweets, but it would be nice to have as an option – presumably most people are updating their tweets more than once a week!

No, people do not update their tweets every week. Some people do, but many do not. For the foreseeable future the plugin will continue to use the timeline to pull tweets.

OK, thanks for the quick response in any case.
