Will 1.0 work with the google url shortening service? That seems a top shortening service I see used and thus those tweets aren’t pulled using the plugin.

The plugin uses Twitter’s search API to find links hidden behind shortened URLs. If you search for the original url via search.twitter.com and your shortened link shows up, then the plugin should find it.
