[Plugin: Twitter for WordPress] UTF-8 Norwegian [BUG]

  • Recently installed your Twitter for WordPress plugin, and so far I love it, but I have found a bug regarding UTF-8 and Norwegian characters.

I typed in: Det snør, det snør, tidelibom, det er det det gjør, tidelibom
And got: Det snør, det snør, tidelibom, det er det det gjør, tidelibom

Problem lies in our characters in Norwegian: æ, ø and å
I have set encode_utf8 to true in the twitter_messages(); function, but still not working.

  • I get the same error when typing out swedish characters like å, ä and ö. I also have encode_utf8 set to true in the twitter_messages(); function.

    This worked for me:

Simply changing the encode_utf8 to ‘false’ solved all my problems. I can’t believe I hadn’t tested this before; I guess I figured the utf8 coding was neccessary BECAUSE of the swedish characters. Now it works like a charm!

Using versien 1.9. Still having encoding problems with Turkish characters. Strange problem, because it is only on some characters like ş and ı. All other “special chars” all OK.

    Tried everything without success.

same in Arabic, i’m using version 1.9.3
