[Plugin: Tubepress] Custom Theme is ignored by Widget

I created a custom theme that works just fine within the loop but when I try to specify it in the widget it gets ignored and the default sidebar template is used. I’m currently working on the site locally so I’m unable to give a link. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
