plugin to add an external link

I can’t find a plugin that allows me to add a textbox for an external link to a post.

I basically want to collect articles (like digg) and post part of it in my blog and link to the original post.

where can I find one?

and how hard is it to create one if there isn’t? I know php and mysql but haven’t tinkered with wordpress api
