[Plugin: The Events Calendar] Use Regular Single Post for Events, Not Yours

  • How do we make it so that we do not have to use the single post page you provided? Our theme already is designed for events, and we want to use that. It is the same one that appears for non-events single posts. Thanks.

  • Your directions mentions something about a template directory. Where is that? I only have a themes directory that I can find, and putting the files in a “events” folder did nothing.

If someone could explain where this templates folder is, that would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Default vs. Custom Templates
The Events Calendar plugin now comes with default templates for the list view, grid view and single post view. If you would like to alter them, create a new folder called “events” in your template directory and copy over the following files from within the plugin folder (the-events-calendar/views/):

    gridview.php
    list.php
    single.php
    events-list-load-widget-display.php

Edit the new files to your hearts content. Please do not edit the one’s in the plugin folder as that will cause conflicts when you update the plugin to the latest release.

Hi,you have to create the events directory as a subdirectory of the active theme, not as a subdirectory of wp-content/themes.
e.g. for the twentyten theme copy the files to /wp-content/themes/twentyten/events.

For more information on getting a sidebar to work (which may not be exactly what you want to do) see http://www.twenty-tenners.co.uk

    Thanks for the updated info.
