  • Can someone please help me? I am balling my eyes out – multiple internal linking bugs, looks bad and has missing css for dark backgrounds, and cannot get an answer.

This is pushing my deadline behind for launch and this is a critical piece of the site. And if I cannot get response or support I will be forced to change the calendar functionality for the site, but I really want to use this plugin… but can’t get any support… please help,. this is stressing me out.

Looks like you are entering events as blog posts, not TEC events

You’ll get support with the Pro version of the plugin. With the free version you have to post here and wait for some kind soul to help

The CSS stuff is hard work – I know that only too well – so, being realistic, you’ll have to pay a developer or push your launch back

All the calendar plugins take a lot of work to integrate properly. I tried five or six and decided to go with TEC as it met my requirements most closely

Hi, thanks so much for your reply.

I noticed they look like the events were connected as blog posts too….

    I enter the events here:

on my sidebar under events, not as posts. – so where do I add as TEC events? not like in my screenshot? I can’t find any where else

In terms of CSS – I spent days before getting it to look right and paid someone – then did an update and all erased – how can I prevent that – again lost days of development time and dollars from the pocket.

    Hey monkseo,

You should see a menu when you hover over Events like so:

If you don’t, you’ve probably got a script error somewhere that’s preventing the menu from showing. My suggestion would be to deactivate all other plugins to see which one is causing the conflict.

Whenever you are making changes to the plugins CSS in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/resources/events.css, always, always make a copy of this file and place in an ‘events’ folder in your theme otherwise all your changes will be lost every time you update the plugin. That goes for all the plugin views located in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views as well.

Sorry to hear you lost everything but you should also be backing up any time you run updates because you never know 🙂

Jonah, thanks for your reply and insight. Can I just deactivate and delete the plugin. then reinstall to see if that fixes it, or do you think there is def a plugin conflict??

Also, is the event label in my sidebar actually this plugin, just not working correctly, or some new wordpress event feature?

    Thanks again so much.

I deactivated all plugins, deleted events calendar, reinstalled it and still get the same thing. Any ideas? Still only get my 3 things in the drop down menu 🙁

Hmmm, mind providing me WP admin access so I can take a closer look? Please email to [ email redacted ]

    thx sent

    Hey monkseo,

I guess I’m not sure what the problem is here… Are you saying you cannot get access to add a new event in the admin? Please elaborate/summarize.

    – Jonah

I am saying it isn’t working right overall. based on my first post in this thread

And my drop down looks like this:

    and yours looks like this:

no matter what I can’t get mine to look like yours – disabled all plugins, uninstalled events calendar, reinstalled and still my drop down looks like that and not yours.

So when you hover over your Events menu you don’t get the flyout menu or anything? When I login to your website in Chrome, the menu looks fine to me, I can get to all the sub-menu items like Events, Add New and Event Categories as you can see here:

What browser and version are you using? Maybe try another browser or update what you have…

    – Jonah

I am using mac and the latest version of chrome and safari browsers

Thanks monkseo. Sorry to hear you’re still having issues here. Is it possible the account you are using to attempt to access is something other than admin (a custom-created role, perhaps)? I assume you’re on WP 3.3.2 as well…but let me know if not.

Lastly: I know you’ve tried deactivating the other plugins, but have you tried reverting to the default 2011 theme (with no other plugins active) to see if it’s a theme conflict?
