I can’t figure out how to display the full calendar on a page. ALSO, where is the documentation that would explain this, and other aspects of the “free” plugin.

It should be at yoursite/events I believe.

Yes, bwp is correct: your events will live at /events by default, but you can certainly change this by enabling pretty permalinks & going to Settings -> The Events Calendar.
