  • * We can add a class for category for each item – you can do the colors.
    * Subcategory dropdown filter. Seems like an easy enough addition. I’ll add it to the queue.
    * A global map would be sick. I’ll put it in the queue.
    * Saving of venues. I’ll put it in the queue.

    These are great suggestions. Thanks!!

Venue saving is a great idea for people that only throw events at their place of business.

Have a look at this plugin development, if you wanna have good ideas for future developments. The calendar is just great (Looks like google calendar).

    Hi Benjamin,

I have added a class for each category per event in the grid view for the next release. Simply add styling to the class: “cat_categoryname” to make the changes you wanted. So if you had a subclass for an event called “Featured” then the class you would want to change is “cat_Featured”

Would be great to have :
    – a .po file or a file to translate everything (backend / frontend)
    – A better category management : For the moment, it creates permalinks like this : /events/upcoming which is really bad for a non-english website. What can we do to avoid / change that ?
Furthermore, would be great to use the main categories directly, if we want the whole wordress blog to act as an event manager (to avoid subcategories).
    – not just a link to google maps, but an embed of the google maps on the page of the event.

    Thanks for your feedback !

    * We are a good way into Localization and have most of the output wrapped in proper _e. Someone just needs to create a POT file. If someone wanted to join us in that effort (hint) it would happen much sooner. =)
    * What do you suggest on the cat management? Is it cat management or just the calendar vs upcoming that is the issue?
    * Interesting suggestion on the main cats but a huge shift. Probably won’t tackle that any time soon. Easier to redo main loop of your blog and just use events cat.
    * google maps is a highly requested feature and on the queue.

Ask if you have any questions regarding this
    2. Cat management : I would like the events cat to be called not “events” but “calendrier” for example. ANd “upcoming” to be translated by “avenir” or something like that.

    OK.

On the queue for next update scheduled soon ? 🙂

Oh, and by the way :
It would be aaaaaaaaaaaaawwesome to automatically update a fan page / profile with the events in Facebook …

    Don’t you think ?

But that’s just a dream … Most important is the internationalization of this plugin. I’m sure it will become soon the one & only good events calendar for wp … !

I’ll add facebook sync to the queue.

Last night I build it embedded google maps and did a pass at preparing for translation. Both of these got in just in time to be part of the QA cycle for the next release.

We’ve got a couple of bugs to fix and then I’ll do the push.

    OK Great.
As soon as you have the .po file, let me know.

    And what about this :
“2. Cat management : I would like the events cat to be called not “events” but “calendrier” for example. ANd “upcoming” to be translated by “avenir” or something like that.”

For the moment, “events/upcoming” is still in english, even if we change the cat slug.
    Is is hardcoded somewhere ??

They are hard coded into the pathing functions. I have made an issue for it in our system. Not sure what it will take to fix yet. Thanks for reminding me.

Yes, if you want to internationalize your plugin, we should be able to translate this. We can do this using the slug in wordpress, so it shouldn’t be difficult to fix this ?
Look forward the next release, before launching this plugin on my website 🙂
