Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » [Plugin: The Events Calendar] Display Calendar / Event List on sub-page?

  • Hi –

I have a site with two sub levels of navigation… in this instance lets say it’s /about-us/calendar/

Is it possible to set the root permalink for TEC to a sub-page? So far as i can tell in my test if i set the slug to about-us/calendar it turns the slug into /about-us-calendar/

If i can’t do this this – way is there Shortcode for embedding the calendar in a page?

Also, i’ve been recommended to articles that suggest redirects, for a complex site that utilizes a sub-page structure w/ sidebars and navigation automation tied to page hierarchy this method would require alot of inelegant fudging and faking when a simple solution should be allowing deeper placement via shortcode.

    Anyone?

Hey there. Shortcode embeds unfortunately aren’t possible with the current code base; but you should be able to adjust where your events live by going to Settings –> The Events Calendar. Could you accomplish what you’re going for in there?

I had a similar issue. Rather than bother with the TEC code or redirects, I just used the WP custom menu and added the TEC page as a custom link, then indented it as a subpage. From the user point of view, they look the same.

That’s an easy solution too 🙂
