    Hi,

I’ve created a WordPress site that we use for archiving and rebroadcasting (via RSS) listserv email messages. You can check it out here: http://news.research.uci.edu.

We are undergoing a website design overhaul for our main webpage (which is not WordPress based, rather Cascade Server supported) but plan to continue to utilize the RSS feed from this WordPress “News” site to populate (again, via RSS) news-feeds for the homepage and the landing pages of some of our separate admin units (which are defined categories on our WordPress site).

Similarly we are looking for a way to easily display upcoming events, with a preference for the ability to create specific RSS feeds for each category of event (which would mirror our main categories we use for the news feeds).

I’m wondering if that can be done with The Events Calendar?

I’ve just briefly tried toying with it on my test server and it looks like each event can be assigned an event category, however I noticed that doesn’t generate a corresponding URL with the category name. For example, say I create an event called “Bobs Retirement” and I decide to assign it to the event category “party”, When I post that event I get this URL: http://mysite/event/bobs-retirement/ but what I expected was http://mysite/event/party/bobs-retirement/, which would mean that I could create something like the following: http://mysite/event/party/feed/ for posting party categorized feeds on my main site.
