Plugin that adds lines to .htaccess and wp-config.php

Is it possible to create a plugin thats upon activation is adding some lines to these two files (.htaccess and wp-config.php).
I want to use it in conjunction with this plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/jwt-authentication-for-wp-rest-api/) so that the user is not forced to manually edit these two files.
