• If a registered “subscriber” of my blog has submitted a post via TDO Mini Forms, and then anyone comments on that post, the original submitter receives the automatic admin email from WP (asking to approve, delete, or spam it).

Does anyone know how I avoid this? Ideally I would like to keep the automatic comment emails but for them to merely notify the submitter that a comment has been made (instead of asking them to approve/delete, as well as including the IP of the commenter, which is also a problem.)

I am guessing this is a WP admin issue, but maybe there is a TDO fix?

And apologies if this has already been addressed somewhere, but I’ve been searching for some time and can’t find the solution (prob right under my nose).

    Thanks so much.

OK, now I know you can modify the text of the comment notifier email via pluggable.php. However, that is not an ideal solution.

What I’m trying to accomplish is make it so the submitter of the post via TDO-MF will be notified when someone comments on the post, which is possible through the above solution. However, it runs the risk of abuse since there is no unsubscribe option with these automatic wp emails.

I know that the Subscribe to Comments plugin does have an elegant user interface that allows you to opt out if someone is in a flame war on a post you’re subscribed to or if someone has used your email address w/o your permission.

So I’m wondering if there is a way to in effect allow TDO-MF submitters to opt-in to the Subscribe to Comments feature for their post when they submit it? For example, when a user submits a post, they would be asked “subscribe to comments?” and if they opt in, then any time someone comments on their post, the Subscribe to Comments plugin will notify them.

    I apologize if I’ve over-complicated this issue.

It’s something I’ve been aware of but haven’t done anything about because no-one has yet complained. I think the best solution is to disable the comment emails to the submitter. I don’t know why WP sends comment moderation emails to non-admin users in the first place.

I’ll have at look at in the next while but I’m sure I can put some sort of “hack” to disable comment emails to submitters (who aren’t admins).

I may be the rare case here. I’m just going to modify pluggable.php for now. Thanks for the response!
