Support » Plugins » [Plugin: Tabbed Widgets] not all widgets available displayed in the list

  • Hi,

I was happy to see that an upgrade was finally available for this marvellous plugin.

I’m a bit disappointed, because the list of the available widgets is really short, and does not include all the widgets available.
I have widgets available for similar posts, popular posts, etc.

Could you tell me how I can fix this ?

  • Which version of PHP are you using?

What are the plugins that create widgets that are not visible in the drop-down?

one of the latest version, something like 5.2.10

enseignement, I just tested “Similar posts +” on my local install and it works perfectly.

Are you sure you put a widget inside the “Invisible Sidebar Area” before trying to choose it from the drop-down?

    Hi kaspard!
First thanks for the updates, pretty cool! I love the new way to implement the tabs and accordions!

There are problems with the tabs though… I’m using WordPress 2.8.5 and newest php version.

I see the tabs titles as “tabs” but I can’t really click and the content of the tabs is shown beneath each other – so no tabs-function at all..

I don’t get any errors in Firebug and think that there shouldn’t be any plugin-conflicts as I’ve been using all active plugins a long time now and there was a time when tabbed widgets worked perfectly 😉
Maybe you can take a look: http://www.onkelandy.com/blog/
On the right side there is a section “Persönliches” and within that there should be 2 tabs, one called “Musik”, the other “Filme”.

There is another problem in the admin area: I can’t untick the “cycle through tabs” and “choose random start tab” option anymore. As soon as I unclick the options and hit “Save” they are activated again.

    Thanks for your help!

By the way: would be cool if you integrated some background in the accordion titles like in the older version (with rounded corners?)

onkelandy, I just had a look at your site.

The accordion type widget is working ok, right?

However, with tab widgets (Musik and Filme) there is a tab title missing for the Filme tab, which you should specify.

There is another problem in the admin area: I can’t untick the “cycle through tabs” and “choose random start tab” option anymore. As soon as I unclick the options and hit “Save” they are activated again.

Fixed this in 0.83 which I will push out in 10 min.

By the way: would be cool if you integrated some background in the accordion titles like in the older version (with rounded corners?)

I didn’t do it because it was causing problems on some themes and it’s very hard to make it look the same with every theme (like your theme has a dark background, for example).

Thanks for the update! I’ve realised that the previously described problem wth tabs not showing and messing up the whole thing depends on the widget. There are some widgets that don’t work correctly. The Movie Ratings is one of them. Gotta check for a new version there.

    Thanx so far, GREAT work!

    Hi again!
I just can’t fix my problem 🙁 I have a plugin called wp_movie_ratings. I implement that in my functions.php as a widget by using the code “register_sidebar_widget”. Somehow the numbering of the widget doesn’t work this way, no matter what I try. I’ve moved the widget in the admin area to the hidden widget area but still no results.

Do you have any hint? I don’t care if I have to hardcode the <div id=”..”> for that single widget but what id and class does it actually have to have to be implemented as a tab correctly?

    Thanks for your help!

onkelandy, did you use the new Widget API? http://wpengineer.com/wordpress-built-a-widget/
