Support » Plugins » Plugin suggestion? Send multiple RSS feeds in email based on user preference

  • Resolved debsch

I’m trying to replicate an old php script from my old website. My new website is powered by wordpress and I have no idea how to integrate this script with wordpress so I am looking for a plugin that can do the same.

The old script sends out an email once a week to users containing a list of posts/events taken from the categories they have chosen.

I have searched for weeks and spent hours trying to modify plugins but can’t find anything that can do this. Which is crazy because you can find anything on the internet can’t you?

So I am looking for something that can send an email to subscribers, once a week, where the email contains CUSTOM posts (or custom RSS – either will do) based on their choices.

Subscribe2 is great but sends out custom emails with EVERY post (which would equate to spam for my users) and with the weekly digest there is no way to choose your category.

I’m trying mailchimp at the moment but it looks like it can only send one feed per email, and feed-merge won’t work because the feeds have to be based on user choice,
if user1 wants meat send meat_rss
if user2 wants veg send veg_rss
    if user3 wants meat&veg send meat_rss and veg_rss

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you!

  • WRONG! Mailchimp can send out multiple feeds in a single email based on the user’s interests.

    So I’m sticking with mailchimp.
