  • @tempethoughts,

Digested users can only opt in or out when they log in if they are Registered Users.

What link are you talking about though, the bottom of what page? A link or screenshot would be helpful.

In the settings area the following is displayed. Is there anyway to insert a link that will allow a public subscriber to unsubscribe or change how often they receive the daily digest utilizing a link at the bottom of the emails? Much in the same way that most email’s subscriptions work.

    {BLOGNAME} has posted a new item, ‘{TITLE}’

If you wold like to change your subscription settings, including how often you receive Tempe Thought’s posts please change settings at the bottom of this screen.

    Best regards,

The text you added to the template directs your readers to the bottom of the screen but you haven’t added any for of link yourself – it won’t appear by magic.

You need to add it yourself using something like this in the template:

You received this e-mail because you asked to be notified when new updates are posted. To change your settings or unsubscribe visit {BLOGLINK}/subscriptions/.

NOTE the /subscriptions/ is the name of the Page you should have created to handle Subscribe2 input. You might have named it differently.

If only “magic” worked in the developer world. I can not find a file “subscriptions” in the FTP directory. Where would your plug in be storing the 600 emails, if not in that directory?

Why are you looking for a file?

Subscribe2 stores subscribers details in the databases, storing them in a file would be very inefficient.

I have installed this plugin, but the subscription link seems to direct users to the backend of the site, and they are not able to access this… is there a front end form/option? Maybe I have done something wrong

I have created the page, and added the {subscribe2] hook. However when logged in it still directs users to the backend… which is of course locked for all but admins. Is it simple enuf to make all users see the front end form?

You need to read about the difference between Registered and Public Subscribers in the FAQs.

Only Registered Users are directed to the admin area. If you really want this on the front end of your site you may want to look here.
