  • @mly,

    “The Events Calendar” uses a custom post type and a custom taxonomy type. To get is to work (maybe) you need to register these with Subscribe2. I’ve look up the custom names and this is the code you need, this may still not work as I have not tested the code, it’s all theoretical.

    function tec_post_types($types) {
    	$types[] = 'tribe_events';
    	// $types[] = 'tribe_venue'; // might be needed for venues
    	// $types[] = 'tribe_organizer'; // might be needed for organizers
    	return $types;
    add_filter('s2_post_types', 'tec_post_types');
    function tec_taxonomy_types($taxonomies) {
    	// where 'my_taxonomy_type' is the name of your custom taxonomy
    	$taxonomies[] = 'tribe_events_cat';
    	return $taxonomies;
    add_filter('s2_taxonomies', 'tec_taxonomy_types');

    You need to place this code into your own plugin and activate it in the WordPress plugins area.

    oh! Thank you so much for your help, I would like to try as your indications but I don’t know much about codeing so I don’t understant where to past this code excatly “You need to place this code into your own plugin and activate it in the WordPress plugins area.”, could you please indicate me where exactly, you mean at the “events calendar files” or “subscribe 2 files”? i don’t understant about ” my own plugin”… how I do that??? Thank you for your patience… I am a beginner and I have a big problem now!

    Thanks again!

    We all start somewhere 🙂

    You need to make a new folder in the wp-content/plugins directory – call it something specific to you. Then you need to upload a file into there too in the WordPress plugin format. That sounds scary but it’s not, it’s just a set of rules you need to follow so WordPress can use the code.

    Read here for more detail on the basic structure of the header and then add in the code as above.

    Hi matturob,

    Hi have been working on solving that problem following your indications. I have somebody to make the plugin to add events feed to subscribe 2 subscription email notifications for me,and everything worked ok but The events updates-mail links to a not found page (only at events, the notifications for the new published wordpress post link perfect to their relative post). I have tried also to manage my feeds through feedburner and it gives me the same problem. Do you have any idea how to fix this or who could fix it for me?

    Thank you! I really appreciate your help, i have to finish this project …

    I’ve tested on my local install with the two plugins, the notifications send fine for me and the link works okay too. The only issue is a fatal error on publication because the posts categories are not passed correctly. I’ll see if I can find time to figure out why that’s happening.

    The thing is that the plugin was made by another person through Fiverr based on yur indications ( so I am not qualified yet to do that…) and I don’t know if he had add of fixed that problem. If you want I can give you the access details by mail so you can check it out.

    Just a question, are you from the plugin support or just an angel? I apreciatte your help so much!!

    Thank you Marily

    I’d be very interested to know if there is anything additional in the plugin you’ve had written if you would contact me here.

    Answering your second question, I’m the person who writes the Subscribe2 plugin – so sort of support and probably not an angel! 🙂
