I’m installing the service for the first time on a news website … and I’m not a technical pro … :(( * I set up the plugin and pushed the widget to the site. The “subscribe” button appears and I can send an mail address – but after that always appears an error message “Error On The Server”! * The mail address is sent and shows up in the subscribor’s list, but there is no activating mail sent, so the subscription is not complete. * I really do hope you can help me fixing that problem! I’m also getting the “Sorry, there seems to be an error on server. New post delivery to current subscribers is working fine. * More nuggets that may be relevant: * 1. I do see the new email addresses listed as unconfirmed public subscribers in the Subscribers panel. No confirmation email was delivered, however. * 2. Related question — it looks like I’m able to confirm these addresses myself. Why is that, if a new user is supposed to complete the confirmation? * 3. I’m using PHP, not SMTP, to send my WP emails. * 4. I’m using a MX record redirect to my host, Bluehost. * 5. For some reason the mail() function on the server is failing. BUT, when I switched to SMTP delivery for WP emails rather than PHP, wham the problem was solved! * So I hope that helps someone in future. MattyRob, one final question if you don’t mind. * I went through the entire user experience, and I’d like to edit the final, Subscription Confirmed page. Don’t like the huge comment box presented to new subscriber. Can I edit that page, and if so how? You would do this by unchecking Allow Comments in the Discussion meta box on the authoring page.
