[Resolved] [Plugin: Subscribe To Comments Reloaded] URL of page title points to an invalid page_id of 9999999

  • Theme: Swift 5.62

I am using a “real” management page per your instructions. After clicking on the subscriptions management link, I noticed that the page heading (“Manage Subscriptions”) pointed to a URL with a page_id of 9999999. I modified line 499 of subscribe-to-comments-reloaded.php to reflect the following.

    ‘ID’ => ‘1054’,

It originally had the ID as 9999999. 1054 is the actual page id for my “real” management page. Now the URL of the page heading is pointing the current pretty permalink of the “real” management page instead of an incorrect page_id. An added bonus is that the AddThis social plugin that I have installed is now hiding itself. It wasn’t doing this before making the change shown above.

I’m not a developer, just a tinkerer. I’m curious if this plugin could be updated to allow us to specify the page id of the “real” management page in order to not need this modification to work correctly.

Not sure if this is the right place.

I’ve Subscribe to Comments Reloaded installed version 2.0.2

My Google webmasters tools is returning an indexation error 404 not found at this page:

    http://mydomain.com/http://mydomain.com/?page_id=9999999

Is it possible to be related with the plugin?

miguelcortereal, yes, the current version of this plugin can cause the issue you are experiencing.

    Camu,

You already have my vote too. I’m happy with the plugin thanks to you.

Is there a way to change anything at the code to fix that error?

    Thanks in advance

miguelcortereal, take a look at my first response in this thread. I provide a solution to this issue. camu said he has added to his todo list for a permanent solution to this issue.

Chozian, I just did exactly how you sugested, line 499 is changed, the value 999999 became 1054.

I don’t have real management page as you do but virtual. Am I done now?
I don’t even know how to check if it’s ok once that the error came from Google webmaster tools as a not found 404.

What I’ve done is to test the same url given by webmaster tools where the error ocours and replace the 999999 by 1054 as you sugested and returns again 404 not found.

miguelcortereal, the workaround I provided will work only with a real management page, not the virtual management page. “999999” must be changed to the value of the page_id of the real management page in order for it to work.

You can follow the directions at http://lab.duechiacchiere.it/index.php?topic=71.0 to setup a real manangement page.

In order to determine the page_id of the real management page, hover over the page you created for the real management page in the Pages WordPress section. The page_id of the real management page will be displayed in the URL shown in the status bar of the Google Chrome web browser. I assume it will also be shown using other browsers.
