  • Has anyone successfully integrated Subscribe to Comments Reloaded with the JetPack Comments plugin?

JetPack comments replaces the comment form with one that allows your readers to post using their WordPress/Facebook/Twitter account, but all comments are still stored locally (so it’s not like Disqus or LiveFyre, which replaces the comment system entirely).

I really don’t like the JetPack Subscriptions plugin because it uses WordPress.com to store comment subscriptions and you cannot “subscribe to replies”.

I tried adding <?php if (function_exists('subscribe_reloaded_show')) subscribe_reloaded_show(); ?> to the PHP file that loads the JetPack Comments form (plugins/jetpack/modules/comments/comments.php), but checking the subscribe box had no effect (commenter was not subscribed at all).

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • I wish there was a way to do this, it is the only reason I’ve not switched to Jetpack Comments. I’d like for everything to be on my website and for people not to have to use WordPress to manage their subscriptions.
