 * Hi
 * I would like to let subtitles appear on every page below the title of an article,
   but above the meta-entries and content
 * I am therefore trying to integrate the lines
    `<?php if (function_exists('the_subheading')){
   the_subheading('<p>', '</p>'); } ?>`
 * in the loop. Unfortunatly it does not work.
 * I am using TwentyTen Theme.
 * Anyone who could help me?
 * TIA

 * I am having the same issue, although I am using TwentyTen Weaver, which is a
   child theme of TwentyTen. It seems that and custom PHP is being ignored.

 * I finaly could made it:
 * **loop.php**
 *     ```
       </div><!-- #post-## -->

       <?php /* How to display all other posts. */ ?>

       	<?php else : ?>
       		<div id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>
       			<h2 class="entry-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>" title="<?php printf( esc_attr__( 'Permalink to %s', 'twentyten' ), the_title_attribute( 'echo=0' ) ); ?>" rel="bookmark"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>
       <?php if (function_exists('the_subheading')) { the_subheading('<h3 class="untertitel">', '</h3>'); } ?>

       			<div class="entry-meta">
       				<?php twentyten_posted_on(); ?>
       			</div><!-- .entry-meta -->
       ```
 * **single.php**
 *     ```
       </div><!-- #nav-above -->
       				<div id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>
       					<h1 class="entry-title"><?php the_title(); ?></h1>
       <?php if (function_exists('the_subheading')) { the_subheading('<h3 class="untertitel">', '</h3>'); } ?>
       					<div class="entry-meta">
       ```
