The code located at http://pastebin.com/cbiU6jqt was a custom modification of the comments.php file for Jess MoviedromeDVD, which means it doesn’t apply to you, and it doesn’t.

The code you pasted at http://pastebin.com/Uqk9xADt is the “library of functions for comments template,” not the comments.php file code.

Find your comments.php file, and paste that code to http://pastebin.com. I will modify the code for you and paste a link to the modified code here that you can use to replace your existing comments.php file code to get the plugin working.

Ok, so there is no comments.php in the wp-content/plugins/spam-free-wordpress folder. I’ve found one in themes/prophoto3 so I’m hoping this is the right one?

Otherwise there is another one in wp-admin folder.
    Thanks Todd.

    1. Make a backup copy of your wp-content/themes/prophoto3/comments.php file
    2. Go to this link, http://pastebin.com/hHpGYrFU, and use the code in the “RAW Paste Data” section to replace all the code in the comments.php file.

On the Spam Free WordPress settings page you can set the password field size to 40, and the tabindex to 6.

hmmm ok so I’ve done exactly that but when I view my blog there’s an error message where the comments should be that reads:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/albphoto/public_html/wp-content/themes/prophoto3/comments.php on line 201

    Bummer no joy…

I may have made a syntax error on that line. Try this modification instead: http://pastebin.com/gq9bGvCj

Bingo! Thanks Todd all seems to be working fine now 🙂
