Use own Facebook App ID? (8 posts)

Is it possible to connect the plugin with an own Facebook App ID?

In this way it would be entirely clear that this App belongs to the respective blog.

Beyond that, if I have other Facebook stuff on the blog, which requires a Facebook Connect, the user only has to authenticate once with one app. So in this way an app could handle all the Facebook stuff that happend on the blog.

To Alex an his Team: Just a great piece of work! This plugin is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing it.

Social is able to deliver a superior set-up and installation experience by using OAuth for authentication instead of creating an app and copying and pasting codes. It does so by utilizing a proxy service provided by the great folks MailChimp.

Yes, it would be nice at least to show some info about the website your authorizing from and some branding also in the connection window.

I think this is important because not every facebook user is clear about which website is he authorizing the connection.

Naah! not possible, way too much coding will be required. I am working on a similar plugin with the capability to capture a FB app ID from the user. This plugin currently uses a proxy site https://sopresto.socialize-this.com/ to get a facebook App ID. And will need the whole core to be rebuilt if a custom app id needs to be added. Its a shame they went after fame developing such a plugin.

Its like a whole new way to screw the wordpress ethics of being a complete open source.
